These and many other forms of salt art are located at “Wieliczka” Salt Mine just outside of Krakow. The mine was build in 13th century and was used continuously until 2007. Interestingly it was run by the same company (Żupy krakowskie) throughout its existence.
Kazimierz is the old jewish community of Krakow at it’s height it was one of the largest jewish centre’s in Europe. At this place, I felt that Hitler won in his extermination of Jews… There is nothing left there that feels Jewish. They try to have museums, synagogues, and cemeteries, but none of that has feeling of being real. During the whole day there I only took 3 pictures. There was a phrase in some movie: “you can’t take a picture of this, it’s already gone.”
Reminder of summer that just ended.
