This building is main Gompa at Kopan. Gompa is combination of meditation hall and living quarters for monks.
Stupa is a place of meditation and also memorial to people that passed away. This one is dedicated to Geshe Lama Konchog, modern day yogi that lived at Kopan monastery. The search for Geshe’s reincarnation is documented in movie called Unmistaken Child.
The view from Kopan Monastery in the morning. I stayed at Kopan for 10 days doing their discovering buddhism course. Every morning the group would enjoy a cup of Nepali milk tea (tea brewed in milk typically with lots of sugar) and watch sunrise over the nearby hills.
